April 8th 2024 is an exciting day! North America will experience a total solar eclipse for the first time in seven years. The moon will slide in front of the sun, briefly plunging parts of the Earth below into total darkness.
In Toronto, the solar eclipse is expected to be a near-total solar eclipse between 2:04 pm and 4:31 pm, with the peak happening at 3:19 pm.
Please remember you need special glasses to look at the eclipse. It’s always dangerous to look at the sun with the naked eye.
